Police have opened an investigation after an 18-year-old was stabbed to death by his friends during an uproar in Danilimda in Ahmedabad on Saturday evening. The victim, Sahil Shaikh, a resident of Danilimda, was found dead near the Aala Hazrat Mosque in the New Shahalamnagar neighborhood of Danilimda.
Police said the victim attended a friend’s wedding where an argument arose between him and the two defendants – Mohammad Ayan Saiyyad and Anas Pathan – both residents of Danilimda. “My son left home on Friday evening pretending he was going to attend a wedding at his friend Aarif Bihari’s house. On Saturday, we were told that his body was found near a mosque with stab wounds, ”said Mumtaz Banu Shaikh (44), the victim’s mother in her complaint.
“The victim and the two accused were friends and had gone together to attend the wedding. According to witnesses, an argument arose between Shaikh and the two accused after which the latter stabbed him several times. A murder case has been filed… we have formed teams to arrest the accused, ”said a police officer.
In another case, the Crime Detection Division (DCB) of Ahmedabad Police arrested two people for stabbing a security guard as part of an alleged loot offer.
On the night of October 11, Arvind Rana (61), a guard posted in the Mayur Chambers building opposite Gandhigram station in Ahmedabad, was assaulted by unidentified people armed with knives. The survivor was stabbed several times in his private parts and in the face, seriously injuring him.
“The guard was sleeping around 4 am outside the Mayur Chambers building when he was attacked. Through scientific intelligence, we discovered the roles of three people – Rahul alias Kalia (23 years old), Arjun Solanki (23 years old) and Aakash Vaghela (22 years old), all residents of Jamalpur in the old city of Ahmedabad. They attacked the victim with the aim of stealing his cell phone and wallet. We arrested Rahul and Arjun Solanki on Sunday while Vaghela is on the run, ”said a senior Ahmedabad DCB police official.
