The regional agency on aging in Region 2 has scheduled three online workshops. They are: the workshop Question of balance-prevention of falls, from 10 am to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays from October 7 to November 4; Diabetes PATH Workshop, 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays from October 12 to November 16; and Dementia-related Dexterity Development, 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays, October 14 to 28. The 2021 Oh These Irish Hills Hill 1 mile walk / run run is taking place at Hidden Lake Gardens through October 3. Participants will run at their own pace using a running app. Download the race application on otih.org or register on www.runsignup.com. Proceeds will benefit HLG’s “Reach for the Sky” project and OTIH’s local charities and projects.
The Brooklyn Presbyterian Church will be running a free after-school program called CORE, Community Outreach Recreation Education. Camp Liberty hosts the Car Show and Fall Freedom Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 10. This event features a car show, vendors, pumpkins, treats and more.
