About this event

October is designated as National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This aims to raise awareness of the importance of cybersecurity in ensuring that every American has the resources they need to stay safer online, while increasing the nation’s resilience to cyber threats.

In recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Mississippi State ITS is hosting two cybersecurity presentations.

—FBI Ransomware Briefing: An FBI Special Agent will discuss the persistent threat of ransomware-related cybercrime. This is an in-person presentation scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday [Oct. 24] in the Grisham Room of the Mitchell Memorial Library.

—Campus Security: Tom Ritter, Senior Manager of ITS Security and Compliance, will discuss details of security initiatives underway at MSU. This is an in-person and virtual event scheduled for 1-2 p.m. Thursday [Oct. 27] at the Colvard Student Union’s Fowlkes Auditorium. Visit msstate.webex.com/meet/thr1 to attend the meeting virtually.
