Islamabad – A man was shot and injured by a security officer of PTI Legislator Ali Amin Gandhapur because he allegedly did not allow a vehicle the security officers were traveling in to overtake on a narrow road leading to Banigala House , the residence of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, sources informed on Wednesday.
Police detained the security guard identified as Misal Khan accused of injuring the man, Banigala resident Waleed Abbasi, they said.
The injured man was taken to hospital for medical treatment. Police have registered an attempted murder case against the accused and have opened an investigation, according to a police spokesman.
According to sources, Waleed Abbasi was taking his cancer-stricken father to a nearby doctor in a car when Ali Amin Gandhapur’s security guards coming from the opposite side attempted to overtake their car on a narrow road leading to Banigala House .
Waleed couldn’t give way to the security guards due to stress and his sick father. This would have infuriated the security guards, sources said, adding that they eventually passed Waleed’s car, pulled him over and started beating him.
Police arrest security guard for injuring man
A security guard pulled out his SMG rifle and shot Waleed Abbasi in the leg while critically injuring him, sources said. After committing a crime, all the guards drove into Banigala’s house, they said. A large contingent of police also rushed to the crime scene and cordoned off the area.
The injured man was taken to hospital by police for medical treatment and later filed an FIR against the accused guard on a victim impact statement.
“A scuffle occurred between two parties over an overtaking issue during which security guards fought with locals and shot Waleed Abbasi and injured him,” a spokesman for the police said. police.
He said police arrested the accused Misal Khan and transferred him to the police station as a search operation was underway to round up the other fugitives.
