The Samsung CR2 management solution gives employees the ability to book conference rooms, meeting spaces and shared offices. Via the portal, physical displays or integration with Exchange, employees can check the availability of office spaces and reserve them according to their agenda. Employees can search for specific rooms or base a search on the space or room type, capacity or equipment of different rooms. The reservation can then be shared with the people who need to be present, whether inside or outside the organization.

From this reservation, employees can manage their reserved space and make requests based on what they are likely to need, including a podium and specific room layouts, catering requests throughout the day and additional cleaning. The CR2 solution also has an artificial intelligence layer that integrates with IoT sensors to determine if a room is in use. If the room is not in use, it can be made available on the management system for colleagues to use.

When booking meetings, Samsung knows that many of these interactions will be with professionals from different companies. Therefore, when employees book a meeting with someone outside their organization, there are options that can be checked to prepare for the visit. With the meeting space solution, attendees can complete a questionnaire to check their covid or vaccine status, and upload photos for their badge to speed up the process upon arrival. When they check in, employees can be notified when their visitors are in the lobby and visitors can collect their passes and scan a QR code containing building information, including directions to the meeting and points. of interest.

As with any management solution, information is key. Being able to convey this information is also crucial. Therefore, Samsung SDS has partnered with the Samsung Display department to include two forms of digital displays. The large screens of around 55 inches contain four modes – home, employee dashboard, event list and orientation – depending on the location of the screen; all of which can be viewed on a personal device via a QR code.

Smaller screens of about 13 inches are placed outside the meeting rooms and are lit in green or red depending on whether the room is available or in use. These touch screens display the room schedule as standard. Swiping left sends a repair ticket and swiping right shows other available rooms, where they can be found and the user also has the option to reserve rooms.

All of these features are based on a web portal that provides employees and visitors with all the information and tasks they need. Through the portal, visitors can receive orientation and information QR codes and access their personal schedules, and will be locked out of the system based on their location or time since their first login. For building managers, CR2 enables efficient and automated management. room management, visitor reception, repair ticketing and usage data that inform future decisions about shared spaces.

Head of Samsung SDS Solutions Services, Theresa Park, said that although demand for solutions like CR2 predated the pandemic, the rise of hybrid work has sparked increased interest in space management solutions to understand how their employees feel at the idea to go back to the office.
