Kawempe Police are holding Gideon Nabasa, 31, a private security guard with Afrisafe Guard, for a murder case.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, deputy spokesman for the Kampala Metropolitan Police, said on Sunday that as officers carried out motorized patrols in Kazo Lugoba area, Kaazo district, Nabweru division, they found Nabasa carrying a bag on a motorcycle with registration number UFG 635P.
Officers were suspicious of what he was carrying and demanded a search.
They found the corpse of a grown man believed to be in his twenties in the bag and immediately arrested him.
A team of investigators was called to the scene and the body was then taken to the Mulago town morgue for an autopsy.
Owoyesigyire said the body also had two wounds believed to be the result of a stab wound.
“Nabasa has not yet cooperated well with the police to help us identify the deceased and where he got the body from. Our investigations to identify the deceased are ongoing,” he said.
The suspect is being held at Kawempe Police Station on allegations of murder.
