Shopping apps have exploded over the past couple of years due to the fact that it’s the kind of thing that could potentially allow people to buy all the groceries and other consumer items they want without having to s ‘expose to the risk of a Covid infection. These apps have become a mainstay for many outlets struggling to make ends meet, and a look at their stats speaks volumes about their impact on consumer behavior.

A recent study by Inmobi suggested that people who use mobile shopping apps are more likely to visit physical stores. Users who had mobile apps visited physical stores 41% more frequently than people who didn’t have apps of that variety on their phones. Retail and QSR apps found their users were the most likely to be absent from the lot, with a 39% increase in how often they visited physical establishments.

With all of that said and now dismissed, it’s important to note that users of the big box and grocery apps also visited physical stores more frequently, with increases of 24% and 25%, respectively. This goes against the claim that mobile app-based purchases reduce the relevance of physical locations, and other statistics in this study reveal that the developers behind these apps have many opportunities to increase their footprint. in different ways.

43% of people who responded to this survey said they had never used an application created by a QSR. Additionally, 35% did not know of the existence of these apps in the first place, which means that these apps may see tremendous user growth this year, all of which has been considered and taken into account. Retailers and other grocery suppliers are starting to make digital platforms and apps central to their business strategies for 2022, and it will be interesting to see where that goes from here.
