West Jakarta Police are investigating an alleged incident of sexual harassment involving a security guard at an apartment in Cengkareng, West Jakarta, who was filmed forcibly kissing a courier.

Video of the CCTV recording has circulated widely online, in which the suspect, identified as 48-year-old K, was wearing his security guard uniform. He entered the room where the victim was sitting and approached her to talk.

The suspect then touched the woman’s shoulder, causing her to attempt to push him away. Shortly after, the suspect leaned in to kiss her. The victim, who seemed shocked, dismissed him again before pointing to a CCTV camera set up in the corner of the room. The suspect briefly looked at the CCTV camera, spoke briefly with the woman before she got up and left him alone in the room.

The incident reportedly took place on June 29.

West Jakarta police spokesman Taufik Ikhsan confirmed that K forced himself on the victim to get a kiss.

The victim, after reporting the incident to the West Jakarta Police, received psychological counseling from the office of the Integrated Center for the Empowerment of Women and Children (P2TP2A). Police said today the security guard was being questioned by authorities.

Joko Dwi Harsono, who heads the West Jakarta Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit, said the victim and the suspect knew each other due to the proximity of their workplaces. He said the sexual harassment seriously affected the victim.

“The victim is traumatized, she is scared and traumatized,” Joko said.
